GYMPIE SHOW 2013
Drizzling rain marred the 2013 Gympie Show.
The Champion Cow, White Park Polly 462, owned and exhibited by the Henry family of Hodgsonvale, via Toowoomba, was an attractive, well-balanced cow with a desired frame. Placing second in the Best Udder class, the judge found Polly’s teat placement to be not quite ideal.
The White Park Polly family can be traced back to White Park for more than 100 years.
F S Johnston & Sons’ Jondene Beauty 33 was named Reserve Champion Cow.
The Intermediate Champion, Jondene Thelma 48 (F S Johnston & Sons, Imbil) is a maternal sister to the Honourable Mention Senior Cow, Jondene Thelma 46, who also won the Senior Best Udder.
The Intermediate Reserve Champion title went to Tara Gwen 17 (Henry Family) with Riverwood Model 6, the winner of the 2 ½ & Under 3 years dry class, which was named an Honourable Mention.
Winner of the Intermediate Best Udder was Riverwood Sovereign 6, purchased by Den Dia Partnership at Toowoomba’s Illawarra Impact Sale.
The Ledger Family won Juvenile Champion with Riverwood Lyndal 6, with Den Dia’s Den Dia Buttercup 2 being named Reserve Champion and Jondene Jinny 14 taking the Honourable Mention spot.
